Unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) is a thermosetting liquid polymer formed by polycondensation of saturated dibasic acids, unsaturated dibasic acids and polyhydric alcohols, diluted with styrene. Under initiator and accelerator, it can be cured at room temperature or under heating to form hard, insoluble and infusible solid materials.
